By law, DHBC is required to meet at least two times per year, normally 2–3 times per year. The public is invited and encouraged to attend all sessions except those that are specifically designated as "closed sessions," as provided by the Government Code. Agenda notices are sent to those persons who have indicated an interest in the activities of the Board. You can click on the link below “Join Our Email List” to stay informed with the DHBC's activities.
In addition to actively soliciting public comment on each agenda item, a period specifically designated for public comments is held at the end of each meeting. At its meetings, DHBC discusses issues such as:
- Legislation, regulatory, and policy revisions
- Appropriate Scope of Practice
- Efficiency of examination process
- Enforcement as it relates to protecting health and safety of consumers
- Efficiency of licensing process
